      Mason was typical of woman artists of her era - as a young female artist she did not have a studio and had to work from her kitchen, alongside raising a family. Indefatigable in her energy, after the death of her husband Mason returned to New Zealand from London at the age of 75 years and continued to paint for several hours a day until her death. Mason was invited to show in Kiwi Consciousness: Contemporary Artists from New Zealand, part of the Imago Mundi Luciano Benetton World Art Collection, in Italy in 2016. As a practising contemporary artist Mason had a keen sense of observation and insight that animated her work.

      Chilcott is an extraordinarily versatile and prolific artist, working across different media as the mood takes him. He is known for his colourful and eclectic works inspired by classicism, ideologies, textile patterns, personal experiences and his environment. He lives and works in the foothills of the Tararua ranges beside the Waingawa river.

      Hannah Nowlan is an emerging artist living and working in Black Rock, Victoria, Australia. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts; Drawing and Printmaking from the Victoria College of Arts, University of Melbourne (2015).   Finalist in both the Fisher’s Ghost Art Award (2019) and the Incinerator Art for Social Change Award (2015). Hannah also participated in the International Artist In Residence program at the University of Lisbon, Portugal (2016).   Exhibiting in numerous solo and group exhibitions, Hannah’s work is held in various private collections within Australia and Internationally.

      PROFILE

      Louise Zhang is a Chinese-Australian multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture and installation. Zhang explores the dynamics of aesthetics, contrasting the attractive and repulsive in order to navigate the senses of fear, anxiety and a sense of otherness reflecting her identity. Her work is inspired by horror cinema, Chinese mythology and botany, adopting and placing symbols and motifs in compositions of harmonic dissonance.

      PROFILE

      Marina Strocchi was born in Melbourne in 1961 and spent her formative years exploring, studying and working within the realm of painting and printmaking. Moving to the Northern Territory in 1992, Strocchi established the Ikuntji Art Centre at Haasts Bluff and has been extensively involved in arts programs across Central Desert communities for 29 years. In addition to her work with First Nations artists she has had a parallel career as a painter and printmaker. Strocchi has exhibited her work widely in Australia and internationally. Her works are held in many public and private collections both nationally and internationally. She has recently returned to her hometown of Melbourne.

      Reuben Paterson is a dynamic artist known for his creations in glitter and diamond dust. The influence of Paterson's Maori heritage is strong in his earlier works, which focused on kowhaiwhai motifs. Drawing from both his Maori and Scottish ancestry Paterson also combines traditional pattern and design with non-traditional media, reinvigorating and extending Maori expression. Paterson incorporates formal painting properties of sharp line and ornate detail with specially commissioned glitter colours to elicit curiosity and joy. His use of traditional motif produces works that link to memories of our recent and ancient pasts; memories that are visceral, tangible and intangible. More recently, Paterson has extended his range subjects to include animals and bird life and his extended his practice to include sculpture; similarly created in his signature glitter style.

      PROFILE

      Sudi works at Dilana as the head of design. She is a graduate from the Isfahan Art University in Iran, specialising in Persian rug design. Her designs often have elements of Persian calligraphy and traditional geometrical Persian motifs. New Zealand culture and nature are also a source of inspiration.
