HANNAH NOWLAN

Created initially as an Oil on Linen Painting, Pipes emerged from Hannah's 2019 exhibition Chimera. This body of work explored themes of myth in connection with memory and intangible spirits in a time of healing.

Leaning on Landscape as territories of spirit, Pipes interprets a local topography site in Black Rock. A place that has proven essential to reshaping the fabric of Hannah's identity. Landscape, for Hannah, will always hold space for powerful reverence and solitude in times of need.

In 2022, Pipes takes on a new disposition through its vivid and grounding iteration of ancient textile forms. The artwork now becomes a sacred and physical holder of space, a landscape within itself to become part of daily life. Honouring the art of inwardness and spirits within.
